Arlen Magic Trail
Along the Arlen Magic Trail, more than 20 stations present special characteristics of animals and plants. The small, often hidden treasures along the Arlen Magic Trail will be examined in an informative and entertaining way.
The Arlen magic trail leads from the mountain station of the Lech-Oberlech mountain railway over the Libellensee past beautiful flower meadows at Schlegelkopf to the Rud-Alpe (or vice versa) and holds numerous magical treasures ready for interested visitors.
The figure of "Mathiesle", based on the Arlberg original Albert Mathies, who had his second home on the Rud-Alpe in the last century, accompanies families and nature lovers hikers through his kingdom of the Arlen.
On the large sun terrace of the Rud-Alpe, Austrian and regional specialities can be enjoyed in beautiful surroundings with a magnificent view of the Lech mountains. After the hike, the kids can expect lots of action at the large water playground and tree house, as well as a zoo with white giant rabbits, dwarf goats and mini pigs.
The Arlenzauberweg can be combined with the Grüner Rätsel-Ring to create a very entertaining hike. With various puzzle and game stations for the whole family, the Green Puzzle Ring takes you from Lech to the Rud-Alpe. With the puzzle book every age and every puzzle fox has a nut to crack. Please spare your kids a disappointment and get the "impossible workbook" for EUR 5,- at the Lech-Zürs Tourism or on the Rud-Alpe - without the book the secrets of the puzzle ring remain closed. http://www.dergruenering.at
The path is not suitable for prams.
Bollerwagen can be borrowed from the Bergbahn Lech-Oberlech.
Directions
Take the Lech Oberlech mountain railway uphill to the Lech-Oberlech cable car station. Lech-Oberlech cable car exit, you immediately see the first sign to the Arlenzauberweg. The asphalted downhill path reaches the Sporthotel Petersboden after 100 metres. At the front of the hotel, a narrow path leads southwest into the forest. Already after a few meters you can see "the door" of the art project "the doors". The forest path crosses the downhill mountain bike trail of the Burgwald trail twice. Afterwards one reaches stations of the Arlenzauberwegs worm fern and bloodwort. After a total of 1.1km you reach the Libellensee. A magical place, which is home to many different kinds of dragonflies. At the Libellensee there are two stations of the Arlenzauberweg. One station is dedicated to the various species of frogs and newts that live in the forest. The stations of the Arlen Magic Trail are audiovisually arranged in German and English. Over a wooden bridge further southwest along the forest path one reaches stations of the Arlenzauberweg. After another 500 metres, the trail leads out of the forest to a more exposed station on the forest nature trail with a wonderful panoramic view over Lech and the surrounding peaks, the Omeshorn, Rüfikopf, Kriegerhorn and Zugertal.
After a sharp left turn, the path leads down the meadow in a south-easterly direction until you reach the "Schneegestöber" station after 50 metres. From here a gravel road continues downhill. The next 500 metres of the Arlenzauberweg lead downhill on the gravel road until you reach the finish and starting point of the Arlenzauberweg at the curve to the Rud-Alpe.
From the Rud-Alpe the gravel road downhill on the Tannberg road leads to the centre of Lech. The old covered wooden bridge and the Rüfiplatz.
The path can also be walked the other way round.
